The long-awaited DC superhero team-up 'Justice League' finally hits cinemas this week, and there's no denying that the movie has a lot to live up to following the overwhelming success of 'Wonder Woman' earlier this year

With the exception of 'Wonder Woman', the DC film universe hasn't really fared well among critics, with 'Man of Steel', 'Batman v Superman', and 'Suicide Squad' scoring pretty low on Rotten Tomatoes

2013's 'Man of Steel' probably passed muster at 55%, but last year's 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' and 'Suicide Squad' got ripped apart by film critics and bloggers, scoring 27% and 26% respectively on the review aggregator website.

In contrast, 'Wonder Woman' was not only Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with 92%, it also topped the website's list of '50 Best Superhero Movies of All Time'.

So, how did 'Justice League' do? After a week of stalling, Rotten Tomatoes finally unveiled the movie's rating... and it's not doing too great with a 37% approval rating.

However, it is worth noting that the Audience Score is place much higher at 87%, averaging 4.4 out of 5 from 85,352 users at the time of writing.

Out of 189 reviews counted, the movie received 120 "Rotten" reviews. Here's what they have to say:

On the bright side, a number of critics from top sites like RogerEbert.com, Variety, and Time Out seem to like it:

Now that we've heard what the critics have to say about 'Justice League', let's hear it from the regular people... and boy, it's kind of a whole different story there:

Fans of the comic books and animated series said it was akin to "reading a comic book plastered onto the big screen"

Of course, many pointed out that the movie is not perfect and riddled with flaws, but they're having "too much of a good time" to nitpick

In light of the savage reviews, some couldn't resist pointing out that critics could be "inconsistent" when it comes to DC movies
