11 Photos That Prove We Still Do The Same Things With Our Parents And Grandparents

Some things never really change after all.

  • Check out these photos and see how we do exactly
the same things today that our parents and grandparents did a generation ago:

  • 1. Showing off our fabulous #ootd in front of the most random of backgrounds

    • Then:

      • Our grandparents probably scolded our parents for simply taking photos of their new clothes and wasting film.
    • Now:

      • And now our #instagramhusband and friends nag us for taking so long to get that one perfect shot. Aren’t you glad for those 256GB smart phones?
  • 2. Taking adorable couple photos in matching outfits

    • Then:

      • Check out those high-waisted acid wash jeans that were so trendy back then!
    • Now:

      • Fashion trends may come and go (notice their cool sneakers), but an adorable couple photo in matching outfits last forever.
  • 3. Having a totally hipster fashion sense, right down to the huge glasses and oversized jackets

    • Then:

    • Now:

      • Huge glasses? Check. Oversized jacket? Check. Artsy background? Check. #hipsterforthewin
  • 4. Acting all cool when hanging out with friends

  • 5. It's not a girls' day out without flaunting all kinds of poses

    • Then:

    • Now:

      • Silly faces and poses with our girlfriends is a must when going out. Maybe it’s ingrained in our DNA? #BFFs #squadgoals
  • 6. Guys are still super proud of their brand new rides

    • Then:

    • Now:

      • The only thing that's changed is the cars themselves as they continue to get upgraded over the years.
  • 7. The typical school photo formation clearly has not changed the slightest bit

    • Then:

      • This is the one thing all schools have in common whether it's an all-boys, all-girls, or a co-ed school.
    • Now:

      • It seriously hasn't changed at all. Class teacher still sits in the middle with the ketua and penolong kelas on either side.
  • 8. Parents have never stopped taking photos of their newborns, right from day 1...

    • Then:

      • By the time the photos develop, the baby doesn't look like this anymore. But it's okay, that's what the baby photo album is for, to walk down memory lane.
    • Now:

      • We still have the baby photo albums, but now it's a Facebook one. Or better yet, babies get their own Instagram accounts featuring them dressed up in all kinds out outfits.
  • 9. ...and they still pose with their kids and grandkids in exactly the same way too

      • From one generation to another, parents never fail to embarrass their kids – but you have to admit, these photos are adorable and come from a place of love.
  • 10. All the siblings/cousins in the family are always arranged in order of age and/or height for group photos

    • Then:

    • Now:

      • The best part is when you try to recreate the photos years later once you're all grown up.
  • 11. Every family definitely has that one collection of pics from a studio photoshoot session

    • Then:

      • It's always super awkward 'cause no one knows where to look, whether to smile, and what to do with their hands.
    • Now:

      • You still don’t know where to look, whether to smile or otherwise and what to do with your hands – but these photos will be printed and displayed on your living room wall anyway.
  • It's time to stop focusing on how generations are so different from each other, and instead start talking about what we have in common

    • UOB understands that even though each generation expresses themselves differently, the same values define us. Check out their video below to see how:

  • Remember guys, whether you're a baby boomer or a millennial, we all share the same values <3
