A 26-Year-Old Mum's Bizarrely Random Way To Earn Money Has Her Selling Her Breast Milk
In our this week's RANDOM WEDNESDAY column, we bring to you a bizarrely random story of a mother of four who sells her breast milk online and doesn't care what her clients do with her milk.
Rebecca Hudson, a 26-year-old mum of four kids, is selling her own breast milk in order to afford Christmas presents for her kids
A cash-strapped British mother has decided to sell her own breast milk to meet the expenses for her kids' Christmas presents this year, according to local media reports on Friday.
dailymail.co.ukRebecca is selling her breast milk for a whopping USD20 per 5-ounce bottle, which has earned her a total of USD4,750 this year
'Some think drinking breast milk is disgusting,' Ms Hudson explained. 'That's their problem. It's natural and full of vitamins.' She also revealed how much she makes from her unusual business. 'For a 5oz bottle, I would make £12.50,' she told a clearly impressed Philip Schofield. 'So for a usual pop can, that would be £27.50. I've made over £3,000. The exact figure is around £3,700 or something.'
hngn.comSo how does one go about selling their breast milk?
Hudson’s youngest, Milly, was born 10 weeks early, and Hudson said she originally had trouble producing milk. But eventually it started arriving in “bucket loads,” she said, much more than Milly could drink or than Hudson could store in her freezer. Hudson says she tried to donate the milk to a local hospital but was told they didn’t need it, so she decided to go the online route after learning that it was a booming business in the U.S. “I didn’t want to pour it away because it takes a lot of work to produce breast milk,” she said. “It takes energy and time.”

Well, some drink it. Yes, really (it tastes like…well, read this). Apparently it has a boatload of health benefits and is useful for athletic recovery (one of Hudson’s clients is a body builder). Other uses include weird, sexual ones. One of Hudson’s clients attains her milk for ‘sexual purposes,’ but the Manchester mother doesn’t judge.
“What they do with the milk is up to them; I’m not going to discriminate,” Hudson told This Morning.
