The EC says indelible ink was successful during the Kuala Besut by-election
Its chairman, Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof, noted that while there were some flaws with the indelible ink during the 13th general election, the EC managed to overcome the problem during the Kuala Besut by-election recently.
"The public has to know that the indelible ink and the biometric system are two different things... it is not that easy to switch. We will continue using the indelible ink as the laws have not been amended."
"We hope there won't be any more issues cropping up about the indelible ink, there won't be people trying their hardest to wash away the ink like in GE13."

Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim had announced at the Dewan Rakyat on July 17 that the government was ready to consider replacing the indelible ink with the biometric system. "It (the biometric system) is the best solution, we will make sure that it is discussed."
The biometric system, Annuar pointed out, was more feasible as Malaysia already had a comprehensive registration system in place in the form of the identity card.

SPR menubuhkah pasukan khas untuk siasat isu dakwat tak kekal

Today i voted at Sg.Dua, Penang for Dun Batu Uban and parlimen Bayan Lepas. The indelible ink came off after i washed and scrubbed my finger. Did not use any soap, just water. It came off 90%.

Both of the voters are from 111 / 49 / 10 - TAMAN KLANG JAYA 1. They voted at 10am this morning and realized that the ink can be easily washed off by body shampoo.

I voted at 9am ans washed it off at 1pm and it came off as easy as it was applied. I put on some soap powder and lightly scrub it with the green scrub people use to wash plates and it came off without any effort. :/

I made my mom use some saliva on her finger as I noted mine had smudged when I rubbed my finger on my way home. Basically in the last picture she used some nail varnish remover and it was all clean.

I went to my voting station, in Jit Sin Independent School under Bukit Mertajam constituency at about 8:15am. As I got home at around 8:40ish, i tried to test if the ink is indeed indelible. I washed with nail polish remover, then rubbed with oil and washed again with dish soap. The ink came right off with no traces of ink on my previously marked finger.

First, I tried to remove it with normal tesco manufactured handwash liquid. I manage to make it faded abit but still clearly visible. After that I thought it was indelible indeed and I took a picture with my finger in order to post in facebook. Short after, a friends of mine told me he manage to remove the ink with cif detergent (honesty I don't know what is it). Then another friend of mine told me it can be removed with dish washing detergent. Therefore I gave it a try with SUNLIGHT (photo attached) that I found in my kitchen. I then managed to remove the ink using dish washing cloth, those rough surface green color one, don't know how should I call it.

My daerah mengundi is Sungai Bertih Selatan. I cast my vote at about 845 am. At about 930, I attempted to remove the indelible ink, and I was successful. It was scrubbed off under running water after 10 minutes using a combination of dishwashing liquid and body wash.

Indelible ink on my left index finger partially came off with wet tissue wiping, when reached home, I wash it with dish detergent and magic sponge, the indelible ink was completely gone, attached photos. -CW Lim

Voted at SK Bandar Teknologi Semenyih. My sister Michelle Low washed her finger after the election and it is all gone. All she used was just washing powder and water, less than 1 min it came off.

My ink did not stay on. I have attached my before and after picture. Washed it with soap and it came off quite easily. Voted in Segambut and my polling station was in Sekolah Kebangsaan Sri Hartamas.

Polling station: SK Matang Jaya (in Kuching, Sarawak) Seat: PetraJaya Jian Goh: I apply johnson baby wash and normal soap, and it's 95% clean. I put some dish detergent, it comes off 98%. Let it dry and wash it again with johnson baby, it's gone. :|

Alex Sim: The first picture shows that I just got the ink after putting my vote. It should dry about 30 sec. It didn't. I didn't touch it until after I came out of the hall, did a swipe using Premier Tissue paper provided by SPR in Saluran 8 at my polling station. After which I bathe and went out to Lembah Pantai to help spot foreign voters. I was drenched in rain so I was wet. After which I came home and bathe again and I took the 6PM picture. I did not use anything to scrub, nor alcohol. It is a waste of money from the SPR! (Daerah Mengundi 122 / 00 / 03 - Taman Desa)

Apakah dakwat kekal?
Dakwat kekal" (indelible ink) bererti "tidak dapat dihilangkan". Tanda dakwat kekal biasanya kalis air dan tahan selama beberapa hari, atau hampir seminggu.
Tanda ini akan hilang apabila sel kulit lama mati dan digantikan dengan sel kulit baru, oleh itu sebarang tanda pada kutikel dijamin hilang dalam tempoh 2-3 minggu.
