According to reports, the teenager was forced to engage in sexual activities with the man on three occasions. The payment for her "services" were paid via the karaoke lounge owner, who gave part of the money to her mother.

"According to villagers, her mother had serious money problems from her many debts.

"The victim also claimed she saw the man pay RM1,000 to the karaoke centre operator," explained Sarawak CID chief Datuk Dev Kumar, as reported by Bernama.

After months of enduring the sexual assault and exploitation, the girl finally lodged a police report at the Lawas police station yesterday morning

The victim's mother was arrested immediately after the report was lodged.

"Four hours later about 3pm, the police nabbed a 45-year-old karaoke lounge owner in Jalan Haji Matussin, Lawas," said Datuk Dev.

The authorities are currently in the process of identifying and tracking down the man who allegedly raped the teenager. The case is being investigated under Section 376 of the Penal Code and 43 (1) (a) and (d) of the Child Act 2001.
