"At IKEA children are considered the most important people in the world, and the home is the most important playground. "Some of the fundamental cornerstones of that work, apart from having the child’s perspective, are safety and quality," she said in a statement adding that children do not think about safety when they play, and therefore it is up to the company to do so.

“Our mindset at Ikea is that we only sell products that we would give to our own children. However, sometimes even though we have tested according to applicable standards and legislation, we make mistakes. We are therefore recalling the Gunggung swing to avoid any more incidents. We have zero tolerance towards any safety or health risks in children’s products and always take prompt action when we learn of a possible safety issue.”
