Woman Gets Her Toe Bitten By Rat Inside GSC Cinema
It was a painful night out for Chrisanne Chin after her toe was bitten, presumably by a rat, while watching a movie at Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC) at Mid Valley Megamall in KL on Wednesday.

GSC Announces Pest Control Plan After Customer's Toe Gets Bitten By Rat
In a press statement released by GSC on 8 April 2014, GSC has apologised to the rat-bitten customer and will continue to be in touch with her to monitor her well-being. GSC mentions that prior to the incident, it has been working closely with their pest control consultants on additional measures to prevent encroachment of pest (including rats) into their premises, using an Integrated Pest Management approach.

It was a painful night out for Chrisanne Chin after her toe was bitten, presumably by a rat, while watching a movie at Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC) at the Mid Valley Megamall in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday.

Chin, who is also the Youth Head and executive council member for the Council of Churches of Malaysia (CCM), had felt a sharp pain on her toe and cried out towards the end of the show. She was shocked to see blood oozing from her toe when the lights came on.

Chin immediately approached GSC staff and they brought out a first aid kit to clean the wound
"Once that happened, we went to the staff immediately and they brought a first aid kit to clean the wound," The Star quoted Chin as saying.

"I also filed an official complaint with GSC and the management was kind enough to give us a refund on our movie tickets," she said, adding that she went to a hospital to receive an anti-tetanus injection. They (GSC) told me to send my medical bill to them," said Chin, who also does TV and movie reviews for an online portal."

“Rat bites are dangerous as their saliva or mucus is deadly, as lethal as their urine. I couldn’t leave the hospital without the dressing and anti-tetanus jab,” The Star quoted Chin as saying. “We just want cinema halls to be clean. I hope GSC takes serious action before more people get hurt.”

GSC has since publicly apologised on their Facebook page and they are already working with relevant parties on this matter
"We are truly sorry to hear that one of our customers recently was affected by the recent pest incident at GSC Mid Valley. The affected customer has been attended to. We would like to assure you that pest control management is part of GSC's standard practice as we take the comfort of our customers very seriously," said the statement.
