The athletics event promises to be an exciting affair. Team Malaysia looks to set new records and finish at the top of the table. But with other athletics powerhouses like Team Singapore and Team Thailand looking to pull a few upsets, this will arguably be one of the more popular events.

Athletics will be held at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium from 19 to 26 August 2017.

Squash

Despite being in a tropical climate, ice hockey has become increasingly popular in the SEA region in recent times. The sport was established in Malaysia in 2006 and the local boys have managed to claim impressive results in several tournaments and games in Asia.

Ice Hockey will be held at Empire City Ice Arena, Damansara Perdana from 20 to 24 August 2017.

Other free events include judo, sailing, volleyball, triathlon, wushu, weightlifting, and many more
