Family, friends and fans bid final goodbyes to Boon Huat in Taman Semabok Perdana
Some 1,000 people turned up to pay their last respects to the national hockey team player Chua Boon Huat who was killed in an accident last Thursday.

The cremation took place at the Malacca Memorial Park in Jelutong. It is learnt that the national player’s hockey stick was placed next to him in the casket before it is sealed.

Family members of the national hockey player Chua Boon Huat who was killed in an accident on the Damansara Puchong Highway (LDP) early Thursday morning, were seen busy making preparations for his funeral.
malaysiandigest.comChua's elder brother, Decee Chua, 39, who was in Johor, rushed back to Malacca and appeared upset but remained calm as he answered calls on his mobile phone and queries from the press.
"I rushed back to Malacca immediately to help with making the funeral preparations while my mother and my sister went to Kuala Lumpur to retrieve his body," he said.
malaysiandigest.comHe described Chua as a cheerful and friendly person in the family. "I suppose the funeral would be held more than two days as my brother has many friends and is well-liked," he said.

The mother of national hockey player Chua Boon Huat, who was killed in a road accident early Thursday, recalled how her husband, Chua Peng Hock, had also died in a road accident nine years ago.
thestar.com.myTan Kuai Neo, 64, said she was shocked to hear that Boon Huat had died in a road accident. "His girlfriend informed me by telephone at 4 am," a weeping Tan told reporters.
She recalled that her husband had died in Malacca following an accident involving his motorcycle and a car.

thestar.com.myThe 33-year-old Chua’s Proton Perdana reportedly slammed into the side of a water-tank lorry near the Kelana Jaya LRT station. The Damansara Fire and Rescue Department was informed at 2.40am and six personnel were dispatched to the scene at KM10.4 of the LDP.
They found Chua stuck in the wreckage and he died at the scene due to serious head injuries. The cause of the incident has yet to be determined, but it was believed that Chua had rammed into the side of the highway cleanliness lorry.
