The Malaysian pair fell behind right from the beginning of the game, losing the first set 21-14 to the Indonesians. The duo still couldn't shake off their jitters in the second set, and committed a number of unforced errors and fell short with a score of 21-12.

On the plus side, we won our first Olympics medal in the mixed doubles category!

And don't worry, all hope is not lost! We still have the men's doubles and men's singles to count on! Keep the faith, fellow Malaysians!

The men's doubles team of Goh V Shem and Tan Wee Kiong will take on Chinese pair Fu Haifeng and Zhang Nan in the gold medal match on Friday, 19 August.

Lee Chong Wei will be facing his long-time nemesis Lin Dan in the men's singles semi-finals this coming Friday as well.

We still firmly believe that our shuttlers can bring home a gold medal! #IniKalilah
