Xiaomi, the young electronics company that's exploding in Asian market by ridiculously replicating designs and design elements from companies like Apple, has just revealed its latest mobile OS update
No, that’s not an iPhone and it’s not running iOS 7. It’s the Xiaomi Mi4 Android smartphone — it’s just running the company’s new MIUI 6 skin. Xiaomi is one of the most prolific smartphone makers in China, but it is also one of the most audacious and brilliant iOS copy cats around.

Called MIUI 6, it packs a significant number of updates, upgrades and improved features from its predecessor and Android in general. However, as many tech sites around the world correctly notes, it also bears a striking resemblance to Apple's iOS 7 and upcoming iOS 8.
Xiaomi has released the latest version of its operating system, MIUI 6. With a design that features iOS 7-like flat icons and gradient rainbow colors, the Android UI won’t help Xiaomi ward off accusations that it copies hardware and software designs from Apple and other competitors. MIUI 6’s design resemblance to iOS 7 goes beyond its icons. Pre-loaded utility apps, including its calendar, compass, and calculator, all look very similar to Apple’s.

MIUI 6 will be the default mobile operating system for Xiaomi's upcoming Mi 4 smartphone, a phone which already looks a lot like the iPhone 5. The software features a flat design with an emphasis on simplicity and color, just like Apple's iOS7, which powers the iPhone. While you can't say Apple invented colorful design or flat icons, there's no denying that some of the MIUI 6 apps look strikingly similar to those in iOS 7.
