For the ninth year running, McDonald's Malaysia brought smiles and prosperity to the elderly community with its annual CNY celebrations

This year, McDonald's Malaysia spread joy and fostered connection with elderly residents from almost 120 old folks' homes across the country.

On 14 January, McDonald's Pantai Central Park came alive with laughter and festive cheer.

Elderly guests enjoyed an array of activities, including a prosperous tossing of McDonald’s Prosperity Lou-Lou curly fries, "lou ah, ong ah, huat ah"!

Guests were also treated to live music and dance performances, a traditional lion dance, and delicious McDonald's Prosperity meals

Since its introduction in 2017, this cherished tradition has grown into a much-anticipated highlight of the festive season for elderly communities across Malaysia. For many, celebrating Chinese New Year with McDonald's Malaysia has become a heartwarming annual event they eagerly look forward to.

At its core, McDonald's Malaysia believes that true prosperity is about shared happiness, not just wealth, and celebrations like these reflect that commitment.

"The celebration of Chinese New Year is a time of togetherness, joy, and gratitude. At McDonald's Malaysia, we take immense pride in bringing smiles to the elderly and sharing in their celebrations. This initiative underscores our dedication to creating meaningful moments and spreading the true spirit of Chinese New Year.

"By embracing the values of prosperity, we celebrate the value in friendships, relationships, and shared joy," said Dato' Haji Azmir Jaafar, Managing Director and Local Operating Partner, McDonald's Malaysia.

As part of its festive celebrations this year, McDonald's Malaysia also warmly decorated four selected restaurants nationwide

To get everyone in the festive spirit, four McDonald's outlets across Malaysia — McDonald's Bandar Sri Damansara, McDonald's Pantai Central Park in KL, McDonald's Kota Laksamana in Melaka, and McDonald's Greenland in Penang — were beautifully decorated with traditional Chinese New Year touches.

From colourful lanterns to cheerful festive greetings, the warm atmosphere created the perfect setting for celebrations and photo-worthy moments.

Beyond Chinese New Year, McDonald's Malaysia also has the privilege of organising various community initiatives across different festive occasions throughout the year

This includes everything from the Mid-Autumn Festival to Ramadan and Hari Raya, as well as McDonald's Community Month, which takes place every October.

A standout highlight during Community Month is McDonald's Malaysia hosting birthday celebrations for orphans from more than 400 orphanages nationwide. On top of that, McDonald's Malaysia is partnering with Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) Malaysia to spread Chinese New Year cheer to underprivileged children through exciting activities and hearty meals.

These initiatives take place all year round under the Komuniti @ McDonald's Programme, which delivers over 10,000 community initiatives annually. Through heartfelt efforts like these, McDonald’s Malaysia continues to uphold its mission of offering not just great food but also feel-good moments that bring communities together.

McDonald's Malaysia wishes all readers a prosperous Chinese New Year full of auspicious blessings!
