However, thoughts on the Internet are split when it comes to double parking.

According to a recent Reddit post, here's what netizens actually think:

1. "I can tolerate those who leave their phone number"

"They clearly care about those they blocked. It also depends on the place. If that area is packed like hell and you drive alone, I can understand. Just leave your phone number and all is fine."

2. "If you double park at hotspot area making the two way road into one way… that one is too much"

"Even if you leave ur phone number also it doesn't matter. You are turning a crowded area into a traffic jam man. I secretly hope whoever do this got their car kena scratch."

3. "Don't double park for like 30 minutes or two hours lah"

"[If I double park] I will display my number on the dashboard. Since then, I've never had any issues except for when it's raining.

"My max time would be five minutes or below, and I will be nearby in case there's a car alerting me."

~ forceful_paradox

4. "What I hate the most is when there's actually plenty of parking space"

"And people still choose to double park right in front of a shop that they're going, just so they don't have to walk few extra steps.

"Like, there were so many times where I would see a car double park, but there's literally an empty parking spot just one or two spots away."

~ iammissunnamed

5. "I have double parked, and been blocked by double parking"

"But when I do it, I'll be sure to put my number. Or if I don't have it with me, I will listen for a honk, and if I hear one I will run out regardless it's for my car or not.

"And yes, when I get double parked, usually there are numbers 75% of the time, but sometimes even if you call they would not pick up the phone or just straight up take their time.

"So far I'm lucky that I have not met a situation where I have had to wait more than 10 mins."

6. "It is because of the design of older buildings"

"If you notice, most places you find people double parking are those old building designs with three storeys and like two parking lots in front of it, such as Sri Petaling and Bandar Puteri.

"Even if each shop only has one customer, the parking would already be filled.

"When people notice such problems, they even made an entire building just for parking, like the one in Sri Petaling, but even then, it is not enough to accommodate the amount of people."

~ casma_pptenshi

7. "Very selfish people"

"Sometimes, they're just inside the kedai or bank, choosing to not hear the repeated honks or remove their cars even after a very long time.

"People like us who abide by the law also need to bring our kids to tuition or go home, right?"

~ Mimimug
