Authorities are hunting for two men suspected of stealing RM2,000 worth of valuables from a roadside mixed rice stall
According to the New Straits Times, Ipoh district police chief ACP Muhammad Najib Hamzah said the incident occurred around 12pm at Jalan Lebuh Meru Raya, Ipoh on Thursday, 21 May.
The victim, a 21-year-old woman, was packing food orders and attending to customers when she was approached by two men on a silver Yamaha Y15ZR motorcycle who allegedly pretended to be customers.
While she was packing rice, the men stole a cash box and an iPhone 13 belonging to her, before fleeing on their motorcycle towards the Meru Raya roundabout.
The incident was recorded on video, and later went viral on social media.

Muhammad Najib said police are now tracking the men allegedly involved in the crime.
He urged anyone with relevant information to contact the Ipoh District Police Headquarters or the nearest police station.
The case is being investigated under Section 379 of the Penal Code for theft, which carries up to seven years in prison, a fine, or both upon conviction.
