Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar has made a video dedicated to Coldplay to welcome them to Malaysia

"Coldplay, selamat datang ke Malaysia (welcome to Malaysia)," began the 75-year-old Prime Minister in the 15-second video published today, 9 May.

"Let us work together (to) protect our environment and keep the world safe. Terima kasih," he added.

The video comes after Coldplay officially announced this morning that they will be holding a concert at National Stadium Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur on 22 November

The concert will be a part of Coldplay's 'Music of the Spheres World Tour', in which the British band pledged to plant one tree for every ticket sold during the tour.

The band with seven Grammy awards is also known for making their concerts as sustainable as possible by utilising green technologies, such as kinetic dance floors and stationary bikes that fans in the crowd can cycle to generate energy for batteries that power different elements of the show, reported Entertainment Weekly.

The band is also the sponsor behind the Interceptor 005, a machine built by the Dutch non-profit organisation, The Ocean Cleanup, that has been cleaning up the Klang River for the past several years.

It is possible that these are the reasons why Anwar invited the band to work together for a greener world in his video.
