Harith Iskander Is One Of The Top 20 Funniest People In The World

Prominent Malaysian comedian, Harith Iskander has made it to the top 20 funniest people in the world list.
The Funniest Person In The World contest is run by the American comedy club, the Laugh Factory.
Adding to the good news - Harith is not only in the running to be the funniest person in the world but is also leading the semi-final round with 750,000 votes!
According to New Straits Times, Harith first made it into the semi-final list with 2.62 million votes.
"I was the leader in terms of votes when the top 20 were announced, and my closest challenger was Alex Calleja of the Philippines. The 20 of us will now have our points determined by judges and voters on a 50:50 basis," said Harith, as reported in an interview with NST.
"My 26 years in comedy gives me a strong chance to be a winner. I call on my fans to vote for me to represent our country in the finals, and show the world that we have world class stand-up comedians."
Harith and the other 19 semi-finalists are set to perform before a live audience in Helsinki, Finland on 4 and 5 December. Following which, the final round will see five finalists battling it out on 9 December.
NST reported that the finalist with the most number of votes will be the winner and receive USD100,000 (RM400,000) and will go on a US stand-up comedy tour.
