Jack Ma Is Starring In Jet Li's New Kung Fu Movie With Donnie Yen And Sammo Hung
The movie will be released on 11 November.
Self-made billionaire Jack Ma will make his silver-screen debut in a short kung fu film with popular movie stars Jet Li, Donnie Yen, and Sammo Hung Kam-bo that will be released next month
The founder and CEO of Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba told South China Morning Post (SCMP) that his role in the movie is to promote tai chi, an ancient Chinese martial art.
Jack Ma himself is a huge fan of tai chi and has been practising it for a long time now. Back in May 2013, he opened a tai chi school in China along with his co-star Jet Li to promote the traditional exercise.
The movie, titled Gong Shou Dao (The Art of Attack and Defence), will be released on 11 November
Jack Ma had apparently posted the movie's official poster on his microblog account, with the caption, "That night... that dream".
According to Jetli.com, the movie, which is said to be produced by Jet Li, will feature Ma, as the main actor.
"We all have the same dream with the aim to promote China's excellent traditional culture and a tribute to the predecessors in the field of Taiji, kung fu, and martial arts. The timing seems to be perfect and everyone involved in this project were so enthusiastic in making it happen," said Jet Li, on his community platform, Jetli.com.
The movie will also feature other kung fu icons like Yuen Woo Ping, Tony Ching, Wu Jing, Jacky Heung, Natasha Liu, and champion boxer Zou Shiming
