Korean pop star PSY took the world by storm with Gangnam Style last year, and the Kpop sensation’s star power doesn’t seem to have diminished at all — with his YouTube channel passing an impressive 3 billion views in the week ending July 14, Billboard reports.

PSY becomes only the third artist to reach 3 billion views on his YouTube channel
PSY jumps up Billboard's Social 50 chart this week, flying 29-6 on the tally, as his YouTube channel hits a major milestone. During the charting week ending July 14, PSY's channel broke the 3 billion views mark and became the fifth channel ever to cross that threshold.

Rihanna and Justin Bieber are the only other artists whose respective channels have received as many views. The accomplishment came with a surge in overall weekly streams as PSY claimed 69 million more plays, up 93% from the previous week, according to Next Big Sound.

It has banned Psy's new music video because the rapper is shown abusing public property. In the first 5 seconds, Psy kicked a traffic cone that says 'no parking'.
KBS said the images might set a bad example to younger viewers. “We strictly forbid any material that might disturb basic public order,” the statement said.
President Park Geun-Hye just favourably name Psy during a meeting with policymakers in which she urged a “paradigm shift” from an economy based on manufacturing to one that embraced creativity.
“Growth led by a few big firms and the government are bound to be limited… we need a healthy ecosystem of creative entrepreneurs,” she said.
"Gentleman" hits 100 million views on YouTube
Psy’s latest offering also racked up around 20 million hits in the first 24 hours, smashing the previous record for first-day views of 8.0 million set by Justin Bieber’s “Boyfriend” video in May 2012.
