Well, straighten up, 'coz you've got another bumper month heading your way this blockbuster season! From indie essentials to tentpole delights, check out our list of recommended films to watch this May 2018:

1. Truth or Dare (3 May)

Starring: Lucy Hale, Tyler Posey, Violett Beane, Sophia Ali, Nolan Gerard Funk. 

Directed by: Jeff Wadlow

Synopsis: Olivia (Lucy Hale), Lucas (Tyler Posey), and a group of their college friends travel to Mexico for one last getaway before graduation. While there, a stranger convinces one of the students to play a seemingly harmless game of truth or dare with the others. Once the game starts, it awakens something evil - a demon which forces the friends to share dark secrets and confront their deepest fears. The rules are simple but wicked - tell the truth or die, do the dare or die, and if you stop playing, you die.

2. Terminal (11 May)

Starring: Margot Robbie, Mike Myers, Simon Pegg, Max Irons, Matthew Lewis.

Directed by: Vaughn Stein

Synopsis: In the dark heart of a sprawling, anonymous city, Terminal follows the twisting tales of two assassins carrying out a sinister mission, a teacher battling a fatal illness, an enigmatic janitor and a curious waitress leading a dangerous double life. Murderous consequences unravel in the dead of night as their lives all intertwine at the hands of a mysterious criminal mastermind hell-bent on
revenge.

3. Deadpool 2 (17 May)

Starring: Ryan Reynolds, Josh Brolin, Morena Baccarin, Zazie Beetz, Brianna Hildebrand, Bill Skarsgård, T.J. Miller, Rob Delaney. Terry Crews, Lewis Tan, Karan Soni.

Directed by: David Leitch

Synopsis: After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfil his dream of becoming Mayberry’s hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavour – finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World’s Best Lover.

4. Solo: A Star Wars Story (24 May)

Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo (Alden Ehrenreich) meets his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and encounters the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian (Donald Glover), in a journey that will set the course of one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes.

5. Isle of Dogs (31 May)

Starring: Bryan Cranston, Koyu Rankin, Edward Norton, Bill Murray, Jeff Goldblum, Greta Gerwig, Frances McDormand, Scarlett Johansson, Yoko Ono, Tilda Swinton, Ken Watanabe, Liev Schreiber.

Synopsis: When, by executive decree, all the canine pets of Megasaki City are exiled to a vast garbage-dump called Trash Island, 12-year-old Atari sets off alone in a miniature Junior-Turbo Prop and flies across the river in search of his bodyguard-dog, Spots. There, with the assistance of a pack of newly-found mongrel friends, he begins an epic journey that will decide the fate and future of the entire Prefecture.
