Swift, 24, kicked off the show with an energetic performance of State of Grace, the opening track from her fourth studio album Red. Accompanied by a six-piece band, dancers and backing vocals, the singer-songwriter got the crowd - many clad in various shades of red - to dance and sing along during the 90-minute set.

Swift cemented her position as a music-industry sweetheart when she peppered the show with light banter with fans, some of whom camped hours before in the daytime outside the indoor arena amid sweltering heat. "I got to meet a lot of you earlier today and a girl told me that she got married to one of my songs," she shared before performing Enchanted.

She Further Impressed Malaysians When She Said, "Saya Cinta Malaysia! Thank You, Good Night And I Love Malaysia!"

Taylor Swift has canceled her upcoming concert in Thailand following a military coup in the country last Thursday. It would have been Swift's first performance there; it was the country's 12th successful military takeover of the government.

Thailand is currently under a 10 p.m. curfew and a ban on street gatherings. Last Thursday’s coup d’etat saw the removal of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra after months of political unrest and street protests. Independent media reporting and international TV networks have been suspended in the country since the military seized power, according to CNN.

Concert promoter BEC-Tero stated on its website that Swift would no longer be performing in Bangkok on Monday 9 June “due to recent events in Thailand”. The statement read: “This has been a difficult decision for all parties. Taylor, AEG, BEC-Tero and 13 Management all express regret and sincere apologies to the fans in Thailand.”
