The Seven-Time Grammy Winner Was On "Oprah Prime" To Talk About His Whirlwind Of Success Following The Release Of Hit Song "Happy"
From "Blurred Lines" to "Get Lucky to "Happy," it's been a whirlwind of success for Pharrell Williams over the past year. The emotional weight of that success caught up to the superstar vocalist-producer during an interview with Oprah Winfrey, which aired last night (April 14 2014).

During the interview, Williams spoke to the Big O about his #1 Billboard single "Happy" and its slow burn to the top of the charts. "Zero airplay, nothing," P said of the single he released in June as a part of the "Despicable Me 2" soundtrack.
"And next thing you know we put the video on November 21st, all of a sudden, boom. The 'boom' that Pharrell referred to was the viral explosion of fan-made "Happy" videos, which came from all across the world."
When Oprah Showed Pharrell A Compilation Of Fan Videos From Around The World, He Was Moved To Tears
On the OWN show "Oprah Prime," the host played Williams a montage of fan-created YouTube videos adapted to his No. 1 Hot 100 hit "Happy." Following a series of videos from London, the Philippines, Iceland and more, the singer found himself in tears.
