Donald Trump as the US President is now a reality but 16 years ago, popular animated series 'The Simpsons' eerily predicted that the celebrity billionaire would become the leader of the free world!

The Donald couldn't believe it either.

The bizarre scene was outlined in an episode, titled "Bart To The Future", broadcasted in early 2000

Back in the show’s 11th season, the episode gave Bart Simpson an opportunity to see 30 years ahead at what happened to him and his family. He found out that his sister Lisa had become president, and that’s when we learn who she succeeded...

In the episode predicting the Trump administration, Lisa is pictured sitting in the Oval Office surrounded by advisors before hinting that she had inherited a huge debt from President Trump.

In an interview with The Guardian, creator Matt Groening said the concept of placing Trump as a president was something "beyond satire"

We predicted that he would be president back in 2000 - but Trump was of course the most absurd placeholder joke name that we could think of at the time, and that’s still true. It’s beyond satire," he told The Guardian.

The scene in the episode titled 'Trumptastic Voyage' was designed to mock Trump's real-life entrance with wife Melania to announce his candidacy last year.
