You'll Be Hearing Peter Dinklage's Voice Among Others In The New Angry Birds Movie

The most downloaded game of all-time is getting its own movie spinoff with a high-profile voice cast.

The frustratingly addictive game has spawned 12 spin-off games and 2 animated TV series, not to mention a whole load of mechandise ranging from soft toys and lunch boxes to phone cases and clothing.

Sony Pictures And Rovio Entertainment Have Been Working On Producing A 3D-Animated Movie Based On The Game Since 2011 And We're Finally Getting Some Cast Updates

The cast was revealed after "Angry Birds" users launched more than 1 billion slingshots within the game.

Other well-known actors joining the Angry Birds cast include Danny McBride (This Is the End) as Bomb and Bill Hader (Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs) as a member of the pork side. Keegan-Michael Key (Key & Peele) will also lend his voice to the flick, along with Arrested Development and Veep actor Tony Hale.


To round out the cast, the supporting actors for Angry Birds include Kate McKinnon, Ike Barinholtz (Neighbors, The Mindy Project), Hannibal Buress (Neighbors), Cristela Alonzo, Jillian Bell (22 Jump Street), Danielle Brooks (Orange is the New Black), singer Romeo Santos, and YouTube stars Smosh (Ian Andrew Hecox and Anthony Padilla).


The Movie Is Slated For A 1 July 2016 Release In The United States

Fergal Reilly (Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs) and Clay Kaytis (Frozen, Wreck-It Ralph) will be in the directors' chairs while Jon Vitti (Alvin and the Chipmunks) will be in charge of the script.
