In what honestly feels like a Pixar movie, seven stolen dogs in northern China recently managed to escape a truck and walk over 17km back home to their owners

It all unfolded in Changchun, Jilin Province, on 16 March, when a passerby named Lu spotted something unusual along a busy roadside.

A pack of dogs was seen walking in formation, as if they had somewhere extremely important to be.

He recorded the moment and later posted it on Douyin, calling for help from local authorities after realising this wasn't just a random pack of strays

According to South China Morning Post, the group included a corgi, German shepherd, Golden Retrievers, Labradors, and a Pekingese, all walking together like a well-organised squad.

A tiny, determined corgi apparently took the lead, constantly turning back to check if the group was still following.

A limping German shepherd trailed behind, and instead of leaving it, the group slowed down and waited. No dog left behind. Literally.

According to reports, the dogs were allegedly stolen by thieves linked to a dog meat operation

Volunteers from the Bitter Coffee Stray Dog Base later suggested the dogs may have escaped from a transport truck, though details remain unclear.

Lu eventually filmed them about 17km away from their village, walking across highways and fields, pushing forward together like they had one mission: get home.

Once the video blew up online, volunteers stepped in and even used drones to track the dogs and guide them safely back.

The clip, later shared widely on South China Morning Post and other platforms, racked up millions of views.

The good news? All seven dogs eventually made it back to their owners.

One relieved owner said they were grateful the dogs returned safely, instead of suffering a worse fate. Another proudly praised their corgi's intelligence and bravery.

The video has captured hearts online, garnering millions of views.

One person commented, "This is not just a story… it's loyalty, courage, and pure heart on four legs. 17km, danger everywhere, yet they chose home. That little Corgi didn't just lead them, he believed they'd make it."

There has been no additional information regarding the dog thieves.

In China, dog theft is considered a criminal offence, with penalties that can include fines or imprisonment depending on the value of the animal.
