"Shortcut To llaollao?" — JB Mall's Slide That Ends Mid-Air Leaves People Amused
There's a good explanation for it.
A slide in Johor Bahru's Paradigm Mall has been causing quite a stir online, with videos of its quirky design going viral and leaving people both puzzled and entertained
The bright yellow slide starts on the fifth floor but seemingly ends mid-air, about 6m above ground level, somewhere between the second and third floors.
The abrupt cut-off has sparked plenty of curiosity
TikTok user @happyboy16_ first shared a video of the slide earlier this month while it was still under construction, surrounded by scaffolding.
More recently, @faizal_danial uploaded a follow-up video showing the slide in its current form — now without the scaffolding but still with its mysterious mid-air drop.
In these clips, it looks like anyone brave enough to take the plunge might land straight in the popular frozen yoghurt shop llaollao on the lower floor.
Naturally, the Internet has had a field day with this
Many have joked about the bizarre slide design, imagining it as an unexpected shortcut to a sweet treat or maybe even a different realm!
"Take the slide and you might end up a Power Ranger," joked another.
Several others have speculated that the slide might be part of a new indoor adventure park by ESCAPE, which is set to open in the mall.
ESCAPE's amusement parks — like those in Penang and Paradigm Mall PJ — feature similar yellow slides that appear to end mid-air, but safely land visitors onto giant air cushions below.
Speaking to SAYS, ESCAPE shared that the slide is indeed part of an upcoming attraction in Paradigm Mall Johor Bahru and that they will be making an announcement soon.
