Ladies and gentlemen, did you know that other than being our national shuttler, Lee Zii Jia is also a budding rapper and singer?
Yes! When Lee is not training for badminton, he spends his time in front of a microphone singing his heart out.
Uploading all his covers on Douyin – China's equivalent of TikTok — Lee has over two dozen videos of him singing songs of various genres.
Sometimes, Lee is an acoustic cover artiste, serenading his followers with his voice while playing the guitar; other times, he is a rap god, hitting every beat and enunciation.
His last video was him rapping a trap song.
Lee uses the handle 'KOBEH98' on Douyin, a name that can be seen as a homage to one of his favourite athletes Kobe Bryant, while '98' is his birth year
In the comment section of his latest video, many netizens called on Lee to quickly upload a new video as the last cover he did was on 29 May
His followers are pretty demanding. ;p
Hundreds of them called Lee their 'baby' in the comments section too.
Some netizens lauded him for playing well in the Olympics, while others praised him for having a multitude of talents
A top comment even suggested he participate in The Rap of China after he has returned from the Olympics.
Lee does not seem to have a TikTok account and he does not always post his covers on his Instagram account.
