Ted Richards, a 56-year-old man from England has 110 tattoos - including on his eyes balls - as well as 50 piercings and split tongue, all to resemble his pet parrots
Ted Richards loves his parrots so much that he had his face and eyeballs tattooed to look more them. The 56-year-old resident of Bristol, England, went even further by having his ears removed in a six-hour operation.
huffingtonpost.comTed, who has 110 tattoos, 50 piercings and a split tongue, is happy to put his body on the line as a visual tribute to his beloved parrots Ellie, Teaka, Timneh, Jake and Bubi.

Ted got his first tattoo in 1976 and has since built up a collection of body modifications covering almost his entire body — including a peace sign branded on his left shoulder with a 750 degrees centigrade hot iron and two magnets implanted in his hands.
news.com.auWhile Ted may like his new look, he admits he had a hard time keeping his glasses until he had two metal pins added to the side of his head
Richards says that his main recovery issue has been figuring out how to keep his glasses on. As a fix, he had two metal pins inserted into the side of his head.
mashable.comIf cutting off his ears wasn't bird-brained enough, Richards plans to turn his nose into a beak. Yes, a parrot's beak!
Ted, who is known as Parrot Man, said: “It took a while to do because there is only one other person in the world who has had it done. They’ve also had their nose done to look like a beak. I like that and I am seriously considering doing that. The surgeon who did my ears has years of medical experience, and he would be able to do it, no problem.”
news.com.auThe procedure was heavily criticised by plastic surgeons from around the globe
Marc Pacifico, a consultant plastic surgeon and a member of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, slammed the surgery. He said: "I am absolutely horrified to learn that someone has voluntarily put themselves forward for this to be done and possibly more so that he found somebody to actually carry it out. I would like to think whoever did this is not medically qualified because that would call into judgement their ethics and morals."
