Lion dancers don't get enough credit for the time and energy they pour into training behind the scenes.

However, a video of two young Malaysian lion dancers practising their acrobatic routine recently garnered over 78 million views on YouTube.

The one-minute YouTube Short shows the two teenagers practising without a lion costume at a shopping mall in Johor Bahru, before performing the same routine at a competition in front of an audience and a panel of judges.

The clip is impressive as the boys can be seen nimbly jumping across high poles with precision and skill

Without the costume, they can be seen masterfully taking turns to balance their jumps and swings in the air with only a waistband around the front boy's waist.

The video was posted by YouTube user @willtravelforliondance, who often posts videos of lion dancers competing in Malaysia and Singapore. It is the channel's most popular recording to date.

The two dancers are from the Malaysian Xuan Long troupe, competing at the 1st KSL Esplanade Mall Cup Acrobatic Lion Dance Championship in July 2023.

The comments section was filled with praise from netizens from all over the world who had a newfound appreciation for lion dancing
