As the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases surpasses 3,000 in the United States, a video showing a woman licking a toilet seat in an aeroplane has gone viral

In the six-second video posted yesterday, 15 March, TikTok user @avalouiise filmed herself doing the stunt while a funky 'corona time' song was being played in the background.

The video, captioned "coronavirus challenge", has since been removed from her TikTok account, but some netizens downloaded the video and reuploaded it to Twitter.

In one reuploaded post, the video was liked over 43,000 times and retweeted more than 8,000 times in less than a day.

After the video went viral, Ava posted another TikTok video to reassure her followers that she is not infected by the coronavirus

Ava said in a video that she is still healthy, reasoning that if she is infected with the virus, she would not be able to smoke an e-cigarette.

"I just want to let you know I am totally fine because the coronavirus is a respiratory infection," Ava said.

"I do not have it because I can still hit the sh*t out of this Puff Bar."

In an Instagram Story, Ava claimed she licked the toilet seat so she could be featured on CNN

Posting on her Instagram Story, Ava revealed that she "cloroxed" the toilet seat for 40 minutes before she licked it.

She also expressed her wish that US President Donald Trump would retweet her video.

"I love breaking the Internet. I just made USD1,000," wrote Ava in one of her Instagram Stories.

Although the "coronavirus challenge" is merely one day old, the video has inspired another TikTok user to lick a doorknob

Let's hope this challenge will not grow into a trend, and ends with just these two videos
