1. #AcmeBar&Coffee @ The Troika is the perfect place for a special date with that special someone

Easy parking and quiet ambience. Will highly recommend Acme Bar & Coffee for people who need a place to talk: easy to get parking, easy to get seats and quiet corner seats available

blogspot.com

It may ultimately only ‘be’ a café-bar, but Acme has definitely thrown down the gauntlet to other restaurateurs and shown that leadership by example is the way of the future.

One of the great things about Artisan Roast is that their prices are really affordable.

wonderfulmalaysia.com

Artisan Roast places importance on handcrafted coffee good enough to drink on its own, as proven by their full-bodied espresso with just the right amount of acidity and sweetness – there’s no such thing as syrups here.

6. #HotShotsCoffee&Tea @ Solaris Dutamas' Seriously Rich Chocolate is seriously rich

A very homely interior it has; there is this sofa area, a long kitchen bar in the center, and you could also choose your favourite seats facing the window.

ivyaiwei.com

I tried a small cup of the hot chocolate and it leaves the deep rich chocolate taste behind my taste buds. Just by the smell, it has a very strong and thick sense of chocolate. After tasting it, it's definitely one of the best hot chocolates I've ever tasted and I would love to try it again and again.

7. #LOKLCoffeeCo @ Jln Tun H. S. Lee has a wall decorated fully with Malaysian-themed artworks

LOKL is situated on Jalan Tun H.S.Lee about ten minutes walk from Petaling Street and they share a common place with Backhome hostel, which is also a very lovely place for backpackers.

peggychow.com

LOKL Coffee's main claim to fame might be a celebrity connection _ Cheryl Samad owns it _ but it isn't a hollow vanity project. This is one of 2012's nicest new cafes.

For you coffee hunters, here's a new coffee place in SOHO KL, Solaris Mont Kiara called the Ministry of Coffee (MOC).

annna.net

Here they use Doi Chaang coffee beans. These are organically grown in Doi Chang, in north-west Thailand near Chiang Mai. It's an area with lush forests and narrow valleys which is suitable for coffee growing.

Right from the start, this winsome cafe has nailed the formula for keeping customers content, with a thoughtfully crafted menu of well-executed fare, warm service and a spiffy setting.

11. #Pickle&Fig @ TTDI is where yumminess and healthiness go together

What I love about Pickle & Fig is it’s honest food, simple sandwiches and healthy smoothies (there’s an avocado and date smoothie that the boo had and gushed about which I still haven’t tried myself yet).

blogspot.com

This café is specialized in smoothies as I can see there are pretty interesting smoothie-blends such as blue healer and goji-me.

12. #PodgyandtheBanker @ Sri Hartamas has really good-looking baristas blushes

Podgy & The Banker serves up a pretty decent cuppa (my benchmark being a mocha - coffee aficionado, I am not).

munchandmuse.com

The guys in Podgy and the Banker and Butter + Beans at Seventeen either used to be baristas at b+b or co-owners. That's because I recognized their faces. The coffee is the same and I love that plus they have wonderful desserts.

13. #Quar/Tet @ TTDI is run by four guys from a local indie band

You can expect to hear great music at Quar/Tet, as this quirky café is harmoniously run by four friends belonging to indie bands.

A notable feature of Quar/Tet is the myxx salad, not your regular balsamic vinegar tossed greens. Tomato, celery, onions, capsicum, nuts with fresh vinaigrette dressing.

16. #TheBee @ Publika has a different indie music playlist for each month

17. #TheBreadShop @ Bkt Damansara has some of the best breads and pastries in town!

When we visited the place for the first time we were positively amazed by the wonderful selection of fresh breads. Contrary to many other bakeries they even have two slicing machines, one that does big slices and one for the small sliced bread.

wonderfulmalaysia.com

A lovely pastry is the Cinnamon Swirl, especially for those cinnamon roll lovers. You will not be disappointed by the sweetness & cinnamon-ness balance with this pastry created by the bread shop.

18. #TheGoodBatch @ Damansara Uptown has an awesome breakfast menu

The Good Batch is in a league of its own. The reason we say this is simple – the restaurant runs on a kitchen, bar and coffee concept. A look into the menu puts that into perspective.

The French toast is superb. Not too buttery but the bread here is fragrant without being too heavy and oh so fluffy!

rebeccasaw.com

RBB’s Specialty Baked Eggs was pretty good too, with eggs cracked into a baking dish of lamb bratwurst, sun-dried tomatoes, potatoes and cheese, baked to perfection and served with crusty bread.

20. #VCR @ Jln Galloway is the place to go for some peace and quiet... and good coffee

One of the foremost things we adored was the café’s quaint yet serene factor. We won’t lie though; when we first heard of VCR, we absolutely did not imagine it to be a black corner unit at the end of a row of houses!

venusbuzz.com

VCR café serves coffee that boasts a rich aroma with just the right amount of milk and froth. Experienced hip baristas will guide you in your preferred espresso selection as you can then take your pick from a latte, cappuccino, mocha, flat white, gibraltar or even their own house brew.
