Somehow, we form such an attachment to our favourite pieces of clothing and it's always hard to bid them goodbye.

Well, don't worry. Stains don't necessarily spell the end of your baju, cause there are countless effective ways of removing them.

Here are six simple hacks to remove stains effectively:

1. Distilled white vinegar works on a variety of stains

You can try using white vinegar on tea stains, coffee stains, grass stains, tomato-based stains, sweat stains and so much more! Just make sure to never use it with bleach, as that can be dangerous.

Not only is it great for stain removal, it is said to also make clothing more vibrant (even dark clothes!) and kill mildew.

2. Get rid of wine stains with baking soda

Wine stains are hard to remove, so be prepared to try multiple times before getting them to fade or vanish. The best thing to do when wine is spilt on your clothes is to treat them immediately.

Since baking soda is a dry ingredient, it will help pull the liquid out of the fabric. Pour a generous amount of baking soda on the stain and wait for it to turn soggy from absorbing the wine. Then, use a butter knife or credit card to take it away. Repeat this step several times until the wine stain fades.

3. Remove deodorant marks by rubbing them with a pair of old pantyhose

Got deodorant marks on the armpit areas of your clothes? Ugh, relatable! Wearing deodorant is a necessity, but it can be annoying when they end up staining your armpit areas, especially when you're wearing black or white.

The next time this happens to you, try rubbing the stain with a pair of old tights or pantyhose. Apparently, it works wonders!

4. Mix salt and water to get rid of period stains

Ladies, this one's for you! Whether you leaked or stained your underwear 'cause your flow unexpectedly started early, period stains are a real pain.

Try rinsing the stain with cold water, then spreading a paste made of salt and water on it. Use a toothbrush to scrub the salt into the stained area before washing again with cold water.

5. Say bye bye to stubborn oil stains with dish detergent

This one is for those who spend most of their time in the kitchen! When we deep fry food, oil may splatter and stain our shirts. Although it may not be obvious, the splatters can be seen when you look closely.

When this happens, use a paper towel to blot your clothes on both sides. Next, apply some dish detergent and let the solution soak for ten minutes before adding it to a hot wash in the washing machine.

6. Clear away ink marks on your kid's clothes with hairspray

Hairsprays contain alcohol, which is an amazing solvent that helps to dissolve ink and remove the stain. A good tip would be to go for the least expensive brand of hairspray, as it usually contains higher alcohol content.

Place the ink-stained area on a clean, dry towel and spray thoroughly on the stain while blotting with another clean towel until the stain goes away completely. After that, you can get the clothes running in the washing machine as usual.
