With global warming on the rise, it's now more important than ever for all of us to step up and do our part to help the environment
By coming together as a community and taking steps to reduce our carbon footprint, even if it's just through small ways, we can really make a difference.
Little changes you can make in your daily life to live a more sustainable lifestyle include:
- Bringing along a cloth, canvas, or mesh bag when you go grocery shopping
- Drinking from your own reusable water bottle or coffee cup throughout the day
- Using your own containers to take away food
- Cutting down on the usage of disposal items
- Taking public transport instead of driving
- Repurposing items instead of throwing them away
Believing that every small effort made can add up to a huge impact, electronics brand Acer wants to invite all Malaysians to help with the brand's efforts to conserve an urban forest park
Located right in the heart of KL, Taman Tugu is a national forest that spans about 50 acres, consisting of approximately 6km of forest trails with more than 5,000 indigenous trees.
Separated only by Jalan Parlimen, the forest is contiguous with Taman Botani Perdana, and is an expansion of that green space. The various forest trails in Taman Tugu are open daily for the public to explore.
In an effort to help preserve this beautiful forest park, Acer has adopted 15 of their trees. This was done not only in an effort to protect the trees, but also to provide Malaysians of all generations with the opportunity to enjoy Taman Tugu and its offerings.
Acer hopes that by doing this, they'll be able to inspire more Malaysians to take care of the environment and start practising more sustainable habits.
You can support Acer's efforts to help Taman Tugu by buying the Aspire Vero, Acer's first laptop that's made out of Post Consumer Recycled (PCR) plastic
Acer will be using RM100 from each purchase of an Aspire Vero to adopt more trees in Taman Tugu.
Plus, as the laptop is made of PCR plastic, and its packaging is fully recyclable, by buying the Aspire Vero, you get to contribute and help the environment in more ways than one!
Thoughtfully designed to adapt to the planet's needs, the fact that the environmentally-friendly laptop is made with PCR plastic results in a more sustainable device that reduces landfill waste.
The box and packaging it comes in are all 100% recyclable too, earning it the Red Dot 2021 Brand Communication Packing Award.
Besides that, you can also help to maintain Taman Tugu by making a direct donation, with e-wallet transfers also being accepted
By making it their mission to focus on sustainability through green missions across the product life cycle, Acer wants to encourage everyone to care for the environment
The brand is doing their part in ensuring a sustainable future by taking steps towards reducing environmental impacts, as well as offering devices that align with the values of eco-minded users.
Implementing the concept of a circular economy, Acer has been working to keep resources in use for as long as possible. This includes improving the energy efficiency of their products, using recycled materials, continuously evaluating the environmental impact of their products, and taking strict measures to ensure their products are eco-conscious.
From the planning phase to final production, Acer creates products that are kinder to the environment, because they care about this beautiful planet we live in.
In an effort to be more environmentally conscious, they've even launched Earthion, a platform that aims to tackle environmental challenges through integrated solutions
With its name being a combination of the words 'Earth' and 'mission', the platform brings together the company, supply chain partners, consumer channels, and employees. By combining their strengths and innovative ideas, they hope to find solutions to environmental challenges and achieve the shared goal of making Acer a more environmentally-friendly company.
All in all, Acer's efforts remind us that when it comes to preserving the environment, even small actions can go a long way!
