If you've ever wondered how much thinner a condom can get while still doing its job, Durex has a new answer

The sexual wellness brand recently introduced Durex 001, a new premium condom that combines ultra-thin material, extra lubrication, and a redesigned user experience aimed at making intimacy feel more natural and uninterrupted.

According to Durex, the product is the brand's thinnest condom to date, measuring just 25 microns thick.

For context, a human hair is typically around 70 microns thick, making Durex 001 roughly one-third the width of a strand of hair.

Unlike conventional latex condoms, Durex 001 is made using medical-grade polyurethane (PU) technology

The material is 100% latex-free, making it suitable for people with latex sensitivities or allergies. Durex also says polyurethane allows for better heat transfer and heightened sensitivity, helping create a closer and more natural feeling experience.

Despite being significantly thinner, the brand states that the material is three times stronger than latex.

As with all Durex condoms, each unit is electronically tested to meet the company's safety and quality standards.

Besides being super thin, Durex 001 also comes with several new features to enhance the user experience

  • Smoother feel: Durex 001 is coated with the brand's DUALUBE formula, which contains three times more lubrication compared to standard variant
  • Easier to open: The condom comes in a newly designed butter-dish pack that makes it easer to open during intimate moments
  • Intuitive application: It features a faster unroll design intended to make application smoother and more intuitive

"From our thinnest-ever condom to intensified lubrication and a faster, more effortless unroll design, every detail was created to remove distractions and allow couples to stay fully connected in the moment," said Durex Brand Manager Zoe Teo.
