Sony Pictures Malaysia and Fusion Wayang Kulit have joined forces to create a superhero crossover like no other, blending Marvel's Venom with traditional Malaysian shadow puppetry

The creative minds behind this collaboration include Tintoy Chuo, founder of Fusion Wayang Kulit, and Pak Dain, a master puppeteer from Kelantan.

Together, they've transformed Venom into a Wayang Kulit shadow puppet, complete with intricate details that make him one of Marvel's coolest anti-heroes — just in a shadowy new form.

The result is something that fuses the dark, dramatic vibe of Venom with the delicate beauty and craftsmanship of Wayang Kulit.

This two-month project saw the team carefully capture Venom's iconic look while honouring the traditional art of Wayang Kulit

"We are thrilled to be working with Fusion Wayang Kulit on this exciting project. Venom has always been a character that pushes boundaries, and this collaboration allows us to break new ground by fusing Hollywood's superhero genre with the authentic spirit of Malaysian traditional art," said Catherine Chai, Marketing Director of Sony Pictures Entertainment Malaysia.

Tintoy Chuo of Fusion Wayang Kulit shared the same enthusiasm, "Working with Venom allows us to showcase Malaysian traditional art on an epic scale, and we're excited to see how our cultural heritage blends with one of the world's most recognised anti-heroes."
