PM Najib Announces Names Of Giant Pandas As Xing Xing and Liang Liang

Zoological Society of Malaysia president, Datuk Zaharin Md Arif said the two giant pandas were getting more comfortable at their new home and were seen to have gained more weight since they arrived in Malaysia on May 21. He also said that the ticket price to watch the pandas were RM20 for adults and RM10 for children.

The new names for the pair of giant pandas from China will be announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak during the official opening for the bears at the end of June. Natural Resources and Environment Minister Datuk Seri G.Palanivel said the new names for the pandas had been discussed by Najib and the Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia Dr Huang Huikang.
"He (Najib) himself will announce the names when visiting the National Zoo later," he told the media after receiving the pandas at Kompleks MASKargo, Complex, KL International Airport on Wednesday.

“The giant pandas will be transported here via MAS Kargo, which will be doing it free of charge. We have also prepared bamboo fields to ensure enough food supply for the next 10 years,” he told reporters before inspecting the new complex yesterday.
