Hello World, Stop Telling Women What To Wear

"That blouse is cut too low, don't wear such high heels! Why so much makeup? Be professional. Don't attract unwanted attention!"

"That dress is too short."
"Why are you so covered up? It's hot outside."
"Don't wear such high heels, it's slutty."

There's a lot more where that came from.

Every single woman I've spoken to has an endless list of comments they've received from self-proclaimed fashion police (aunties, uncles, strangers, friends, parents, bla bla bla bla).

Don't get me wrong, it's not like I'm against the idea of dressing to suit the occasion. I'm all for not turning up at a funeral or job interview in a bikini or sleepwear.

What I disagree with is society's unhealthy obsession with how women choose to dress. Most often, the uninvited comment is justified with something along the lines of, "It's for your own good lah. Later people won't respect you if they see so much skin."

Fascinating, isn't it? How the world has been brainwashed to believe that a woman's body and what she chooses to wear determines whether or not she is respectable. Let's ignore her behaviour, character, and personality – they're clearly irrelevant.

Also, what right do we have to judge and label women when they choose to dress a certain way? Why do we treat women like they're commodities instead of humans?

Sakit hati dan otak bila I think about things like this.

So, tengoklah this video on why I think people should REALLY STOP telling women what to wear:

How we choose to look is our right, okay? Don't attach your expectations and beliefs on people. Thanks ah. :)
