Here's A Simple Hack To Relieve An Itchy Mosquito Bite
When you just cannot tahan it.
Ever had a mosquito bite so itchy that all you wanted to do was scratch the living daylights out of it?
Or perhaps you're one of those who uses your fingernail to create an 'X' mark on the bite in an attempt to soothe the itch...
I'm sure we've all done this.
Well, apparently, there's an easy trick to soothe a mosquito bite if you cannot tahan it.
All you need is a spoon or teaspoon and some hot water.
TikTok user @kimonskin recently shared this hack in a video that's received over 57,900 likes since.
She explained to grab a mug of hot water and leave the teaspoon or spoon in the water until it gets hot.
Then, lightly dab the mosquito bite with the hot spoon or teaspoon. Leave it for a second or two and repeat this around four to five times.
The heat from the spoon will destroy the protein in the bite, which causes the itch. Plus, it feels like a total relief!
Obviously, don't do it until it burns your skin or hurts you badly. The aim is to "cook" the protein in the bite, a process known as protein denaturation.
Some other ways you can relieve an itchy bug bite is to apply an ice cube or ice pack to the area
You can also apply a mixture of baking soda and water. Let the mixture sit on the bite for around 10 minutes before washing it away.
