Rob says, "It's hard not to be blown away by the Petronas Twin Towers. At night they are just beautiful. The towers, together with the monorail, give the city an almost science fiction feel."

He used 4 cameras (a Nikon D800, two D7000s, and a D3200) and 5 lenses (16-35mm, 10-24mm, 70-200mm, 50mm, and 10.5mm) during 40 different shoots. In the end, he had 19,997 separate photographs weighing a total of 640 gigabytes.

Whitworth came up with some of the most creative transitions we’ve seen so far in a city time-lapse. Scenes bounce between day and night. Shots zoom from one into another. It’s like a roller coaster for your eyes.

I am a photographer at heart. Time-lapse sits in something of a gray area that is neither photography, nor is it video. Additionally there are a number of technical advantages to working with a sequence of stills rather than raw video that make a lot of the creative shots in my videos possible.
