When we hear the phrase mental illness, one of the first things that come to mind is the image of a deranged, unstable person.
Due to the stigma and stereotypes associated with mental health, it has made it very difficult for people to open up about the topic and discuss it freely.
In our efforts to open up a conversation on the topic and show people the importance of mental health and how it affects all of us, we spoke to Dr Chua Sook Ning, a clinical psychologist:
