So, did you pass the challenge? :P

While we would enjoy spoiling our loved ones with all the things that money can buy, it's important to be mindful of how much you spend.

One effective way to manage your finances is through the use of debit cards, and here to help spread awareness is Market Development Fund (MDF), a governed body comprising 21 financial institutions

Established under the purview of Bank Negara Malaysia, MDF created the Pay With Debit campaign to help Malaysians better manage their funds by promoting greater acceptance and usage of debit cards.

The campaign also highlights the importance of financial literacy. As paying for things with your debit card means that you'll be spending money that you already earned, you're more likely to learn how to spend within your means. Plus, you'll also be more conscious of where your money goes.

Here are some advantages of using debit cards as your choice of payment method:

1. Quick - With payWave available almost everywhere, all it takes is one tap and your payment is done! However, do note that there is an RM250 limit for transactions via payWave.

2. Track spending - You can easily track your spending through your debit card's history. This way, you can cut down on spending if you need to (read: unnecessary online shopping :P), besides protecting yourself from fraud.

3. Convenient - Besides paying with a tap, you can even pair your debit card with your e-wallet, depending on which bank you use. Plus, the contactless payment will help you stay safe in the current situation.

Whether you're planning a perfect date (after getting fully vaxxed), or going out to get groceries, you can save time and hassle by paying with your debit card
