Bangkok Lane Mee Goreng @ Penang
"Taste wise, the noodles possess all the flavours to tingle the taste buds – sweet, sour and spicy. Made from prawn stock and mashed sweet potatoes, the gravy furnishes the noodles with sweetness while the chilli tomato paste contributes to the hints of sourness and spiciness. On top of that, the Mee Goreng draws blossoming flavour from the dried cuttlefish. These two are the main contributors to the tastiness of the dish."
what2seeonline.com"Bangkok Lane’s version is moist, with ladles of the terrifyingly blood-red gravies scooped onto the wok and fried with much ease. After all, 80 years of handling the wok can either mean two things: Flawless, skillfully cooked masterpiece OR …..a lop-sided, extra muscular right arm."

"The mee goreng is as basic as it could get as it is only prepared with only a handful of ingredients – yellow noodles, bean sprouts and their homemade specialty sambal. Then, a dollop of extra sambal is added on top of the noodles. Even though the sambal looks red hot, it doesn’t taste as spicy as it seems. Well, at least for me. I actually mixed another extra spoonful of sambal into the noodles later and felt the spiciness was still tolerable.. in fact just right. "
vkeong.com"Yang buatkan mee goreng ni sedap ialah bila dimakan bersama dengan telor goreng mata kerbau dengan sambal goreng yang rasanya agak masin sikit tapi sedap."

"The mee masak here is different from all the other mee rebus and mee gorengs. This one is not cooked with the usual thick tomato and potato gravy. But instead comes with an egg based clear soup. It has all the other standard ingredients of the usual mee rebus – potatoes, ‘tau kua’ (soy bean cake) and strips of dried squid."
lingzie.com"The noodles are fried with some light seasoning, chopped vegetables, and the usual squid, egg, and soy bean curd. Its different because, instead of the tomato and chilli puree taste, you get fresh stir fried tomatoes, chillies and fried tofu, so there is a bit of sweet juicy and raw texture to the side ingredients of the noodles. Making it a surprisingly crunchy, fresh and tasty chew every time you munch down."

"What's so special about their mee goreng is that it's pretty 'wet' and 'mushy', definitely not one of those typical dry mee gorengs. Surprisingly, being a fan of dry mee goreng, I can accept this type as well, because it tasted as though all the goodness of the sauce that they have mixed have been well infused in the Mee itself, giving it the 'ooomph'"
blogspot.comSuitable for those that prefer wet fried and less spicy mee goreng. Portion rather small but if you want more, just order the larger portion.

"Every scoop of noodle will net you some cuttle fish along with some spring onions and fragrant fried onions, wonderful. The fried noodle itself is flavourful, enough wok hei and slightly oily but I do not find much egg/ no egg coatings on it, darn!"
blogspot.com"I found the noodles better than Bangkok Lane Mee Goreng. Noodles were well mixed with the sauce and ingredients, and boasted a firm texture. I liked the sotong, which was tasty from the savoury-sweet gravy. If you can’t take spicy, it’s best to have a cold drink on standby and you will be sweating buckets."

"Although my family and I live half an hour away from Kuala Lumpur and the parking here is horrendous, we sometimes like to take a midnight trip to Pelita for some late night suppa! The mee goreng mamak is one of the best, and this place is almost always full! Come here for an authentic Malaysian experience."
tripadvisor.com.my"The mee goreng came with a lime, topped with lettuce. It has very minimal ingredients such as beancurd and onions. The lime added some tanginess to it. It was slightly salty. The beancurd was smooth."
