The Hari Raya festive season is finally here and Malaysians all over the country are heading back to their hometowns to reconnect with friends and relatives

Unfortunately, there's always the pain of getting caught in traffic jams when you balik kampung and then again when you return to KL. But fret not because Waze is here to ease your traffic woes!

Waze has more than 2 million monthly active users in Kuala Lumpur, contributing nearly 1.2 million alerts such as accidents and potholes per month.

The traffic navigation app has came out with a helpful infographic detailing the best and worst times to drive back home on Sunday, 10 July and Monday, 11 July this year

The best time to drive back to KL on Sunday would be before 11am. If you're planning to head back on Monday, do embark before 10am.

On the other hand, try to avoid heading back to KL on Sunday between 1pm to 5pm. If you have plans to leave on Monday, the times to avoid are between 12pm to 6pm and 8pm to 10pm.

Waze expects traffic to swell up to 262.4% with a 199% increase in accident alerts and a 47.41% increase in hazard alerts.

Waze also recommends trying out the Planned Drives feature which will come in handy during this festive season

The option allows you to tell the app when you need to reach your destination, and it will then alert you as to when you should leave, while taking into consideration things like expected traffic conditions, aggregated traffic history, and more.

Don't have Waze installed on your device? Download the app now on Google Playstore and iTunes.

Be safe on the road and Selamat Hari Raya! :D
