Is it the flavour, juiciness, aroma, crispiness, or all of it?
Everyone has their own preferences when it comes to what they desire in a perfect piece of fried chicken
Some may love the spicy kick of flavours, while others favour the tenderness and aroma from the chicken.
Whichever it may be, there's no denying that Malaysians love ayam goreng, be it on its own or as an accompaniment to main dishes like nasi lemak.
On a mission to find the best ayam goreng, we challenged our colleagues to do a blind taste test of fried chicken from five different fast food restaurants

First, they were asked to rank the fried chicken based on appearance. Zaidi and Brenda were attracted to the brightest coloured one, Ayam Goreng D.
Brenda: "This one the colour is very bright. Yes."
Zaidi: "It's like when you put this chicken on Photoshop, right? You naikkan contrast."
Brenda: "The saturation. Hahaha!"
Zaidi: "The saturation becomes like this."
When it came to the exciting part, makan time, Zaidi and Gwen devoured Ayam Goreng A and ate the best part first, the skin!
Zaidi: "I always makan the skin first!"
Gwen: "Yeah, same!"
Gwen: "I feel like the herbs I smell, I can also taste."
Brenda: "Oh, yeah!"
Meanwhile, Nandini got a hit of spice with Ayam Goreng E. Malaysians sure love that pedas flavour, yassss! :D
Nandini: "Oh, do you guys feel that kick of spice?"
Nasha: "Yeah, ada a bit of spice."
Nandini: "It's like you tengok tengok macam biasa biasa tapi bila you makan macam, oh!"
Nandini compared the juiciness of Ayam Goreng C to be as shiny as her skin, hehe!
Nandini: "Oh, wow! It's so juicy!"
Nandini: "Tengok ni. Shiny macam kulit I!"
Nasha: "Wow, can I try?"
Nandini: "Don't touch my face! Hahaha!"
