The tragic incident apparently caused a commotion in the area

According to a report in NST Online, shoppers and passers-by claimed to have witnessed the teen's fall, with one Facebook user posting on her profile: "Just witnessed a boy fall from the 4th floor of the Megalong mall.

While it was speculated on social media that the teen was running away from a fight, Penampang police chief Deputy Supt Haris Ibrahim classified the case as sudden death, ruling out foul play

DSP Haris added that the family members have been informed and a post-mortem will be conducted on Sunday to establish the cause of death.
