On Saturday, a Form four student fell to his death from the multi-storey parking lot of the Megalong shopping complex in Sabah
The boy, aged 16 and said to be from the Penampang area, is believed to have landed on a parked car before falling onto the sidewalk next to the mall in Donggongon.
His body was found sprawled on the road at about 4pm
The tragic incident apparently caused a commotion in the area
According to a report in NST Online, shoppers and passers-by claimed to have witnessed the teen's fall, with one Facebook user posting on her profile: "Just witnessed a boy fall from the 4th floor of the Megalong mall.
While it was speculated on social media that the teen was running away from a fight, Penampang police chief Deputy Supt Haris Ibrahim classified the case as sudden death, ruling out foul play
DSP Haris added that the family members have been informed and a post-mortem will be conducted on Sunday to establish the cause of death.
Earlier this week, a 61-year-old drunk man was detained by police after he pulled out a gun at Centrepoint, Bandar Utama:
