2 Men Who Killed A Cat In Gombak Laundry Dryer Have Been Arrested
The police are currently searching for the third suspect.
Two out of three men who were being hunted down for killing a cat in a laundry dryer have been arrested by the police earlier this morning, 14 September
Gombak district police chief Assistant Commissioner Samsor Maarof said in a statement posted by the Royal Malaysia Police that the police are currently searching for a third suspect believed to have been at the scene during the incident.
On Wednesday, CCTV footage of the men dumping a cat into a self-service laundry dryer was posted on social media by the Malaysian Animal Association
The video showed the men putting coins into the dryer to activate it and watched as the machine whirred the animal, which was reportedly pregnant.
However, the cat was only discovered eight hours later when a customer found it dead inside the dryer with its blood splattered all over the machine.
The brutal incident took place at Gombak Ria Park at 12.50am on Tuesday, 11 September.
The suspects are being investigated under Section 428 of the Penal Code for animal cruelty
The crime is punishable by a fine, up to three years of imprisonment, or both if convicted, reported Malay Mail.
