Drivers at the Sungai Besi toll plaza heading towards Kuala Lumpur saw a massive traffic jam yesterday, 10 May
Tensions ran high and several drivers got out of their cars to confront the police
In a video uploaded by Bernama, a group of people can be seen arguing with a police officer, claiming that their cars were running out of petrol and engines were overheating.
One of them complained because they can't even turn their car around.
The police officer then said, "Now, you want to be angry at me but I can't do anything," to which the crowd then replied in unison, "We're not angry, we're trying to negotiate."
The roadblock was set up following the government's decision to ban interstate and interdistrict travel throughout the whole country starting 10 May
Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Azmi Abu Kassim confirmed with Astro Awani that the 2km traffic jam lasted between 7am until 10am.
However, he explained that traffic flow was much smoother after 10am once the police on duty had relaxed the inspections at the roadblock, even though there were many vehicles on the route.
Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the whole country will be put under a 27-day Movement Control Order (MCO):
