4-Year-Old Girl Falls From The Top Of A Ferris Wheel At Perak Funfair
The girl sustained injuries to her leg, wrist, and face.
Four-year-old Chow Lee Ying recently fell from the top of a Ferris wheel at a funfair in Perak
According to Sin Chew Daily, the girl's parents brought her to a funfair at Hutan Melintang on Sunday, 22 September.
The girl reportedly got into a carriage of the Ferris wheel alone and the ride began moving although her carriage door was not closed.
Upon realising this, her parents demanded for the ride to be stopped.
The carriage door then flung open and the girl fell five metres from the top of the machine
Her uncle who was present during the incident said, "The Ferris wheel stopped moving but my niece was already halfway through the rotation. She fell before the wheel could be lowered."
The girl sustained injuries to her leg, wrist, and face
The impact of the fall resulted in Chow breaking her right leg and suffering abrasions on other parts of her body.
New Straits Times reported that the victim will undergo surgery and is currently receiving treatment at Teluk Intan Hospital.
The family have yet to decide whether they would take legal action against the funfair's organisers
Harian Metro reported that residents have filed a police report against the funfair, claiming that the rides are unsafe.
Meanwhile, the funfair's organisers confirmed the incident and said that they are cooperating with investigators.
