8-Year-Old Boy Drove To McDonald's For A Burger After Learning How To Drive On YouTube
Proof that you can learn anything from YouTube these days.
Drive-thru staff could not believe their eyes when a young lad pulled up to order some burgers
The boy - from East Palestine, Ohio - wasn't going to let a little thing like his age stand between him and a delicious burger.
With an appetite for a cheeseburger, the eight-year-old boy drove himself and his 4-year-old sister to McDonald's after learning how to drive by watching YouTube videos
The incident occurred at around 8pm on Sunday, 9 April, after the children’s dad arrived back from work and headed to bed for an early night.
“The workers thought that the parents were in the back, which they obviously weren’t,” local police officer Jacob Koehler told the Weirton Times.
According to Fox News, multiple police reports were lodged after witnesses saw a young boy behind the wheels.
Police also said the youngster taught himself how to drive by watching YouTube videos
“I think there is a good teaching point here. With the way technology is kids will learn how to do anything and everything. This kid learned how to drive on YouTube. He probably looked it up for five minutes and then said it was time to go,” Koehler said.
The youngster - who used money from his piggy bank to pay for the food - reportedly broke down and cried when approached by police
Speaking through tears, he told the officer that all he wanted was a cheeseburger.
A family friend who was inside the restaurant spotted the children and called their grandparent’s, who later picked them up.
No charges were filed and the kids were able to eat their McDonald's while waiting for their grandparents.
