A Member Of FELCRA's Board Of Directors Has Now Tested Positive For Coronavirus

The FELCRA board member is one of the seven new cases that were traced back to patient 26, who is a senior member of the Khazanah Nasional Berhad and UDA Holdings Berhad.

The unnamed board member is currently being treated at Hospital Sungai Buloh (HSB), according to a statement released by the agency's Chief Executive Officer Mohd Nazrul Izam Mansor.

Additionally, Mohd Nazrul said that the employees who came in close contact with the affected board member are also currently undergoing screening tests at HSB.

"Right now, they are under self-quarantine until the hospital issues their screening results," he added.

The corporate organisation, which is wholly owned by the Malaysian Government, has closed its headquarters immediately with staff ordered to work from home beginning today until 6 March, Friday.

"All staff have been instructed to work from home and were advised not to travel outside the district so that they can be contacted. The headquarters will be back in operations on Monday (9 March)," it said.

"All operations at the regional and area levels will continue as usual. The headquarters will keep constant communication with them to ensure no disruption in the operations of farms and factories."

In a statement on Wednesday, 4 March, the Ministry of Health identified a new COVID-19 cluster.

The new cluster involves patient 26 and has recorded 28 positive cases, the ministry added.

"After 11 days without newly reported cases, a second wave began on 27 February. As of 4 March, the second wave has recorded 28 positive cases. Based on investigations and tracking of contacts carried out, to date, 215 close contacts of case 26 have been detected," said the ministry.
