A 27-year-old Malaysian man was recently arrested at Melbourne International Airport for allegedly carrying 900 images and videos of child pornography

According to Daily Mail, the man had his belongings searched by Australian Border Force (ABF) officers upon arrival from Kuala Lumpur on 22 March.

The material was found on his laptop and mobile phone as ABF officers went through his belongings.

In a statement, ABF Commander Investigations Mark Antill said protecting the community from harm was their highest priority

"Children are harmed by those who manufacture this abhorrent material, and people who consume child exploitation material provide the market that fuels this vile trade," Antill was quoted as saying by The Age

"Through the use of intelligence and targeting techniques our trained officers actively look for people bringing child exploitation material into Australia," he added.

The man was charged with Importing Tier 2 goods (Child Exploitation Material), contrary to Section 233BAB(5) of the Customs Act 1901
